NovaVoid · The Cat Civilization Server

What Is Cat Civilization?

Cat Civilization (also called CatCiv) is a Minecraft civilization server, created by NovaVoid, where every player is a cat. Instead of a normal survival game, you become a cat who founds nations, builds cities, forms alliances, fights wars, and creates political systems. Every action becomes part of a persistent world history documented on the Cat Civilization wiki. It is free to play on Minecraft Java and Bedrock.

Why is everyone a cat?

On Cat Civilization, you don't play a person wearing a cat skin — you play as a fully custom 3D cat that looks and animates the same for everyone, whether they're on PC, console, or mobile. There are dozens of cat looks to collect, from common tabbies to rare one-of-a-kind variants.

The choice is more than cosmetic. Playing as cats lowers the temperature of the whole server: politics feel dramatic instead of toxic, first meetings feel curious instead of hostile, and a war between two cat nations reads like a story rather than a griefing session. It's the same deep civilization gameplay you'd find on a nations server, wrapped in a world that's genuinely charming to live in.

How the world works

One persistent world, one history

Cat Civilization runs on a single persistent world that does not reset. The cities you build, the borders you draw, and the wars you win all carry forward. Because nothing wipes, your actions have a lasting impact — the map today is the direct result of everything players have done before you.

Territory and settlements

Claim land to protect your builds, then grow a single outpost into a village, a city, and eventually the capital of a nation. Territory is the currency of power: where your borders sit determines who you trade with, who you border, and who you go to war with.

A player-driven economy

The economy runs on catnip, a player-driven currency. Set up automated chest shops, list goods on the global market, and build trade routes between nations. Wealth is earned and moved by players, not handed out by the server.

How nations work

A nation on Cat Civilization is a player-founded state. Found one, invite citizens, assign roles, and set your borders. From there the real game begins: negotiate treaties, form alliances, declare rivalries, and defend your territory. Diplomacy, betrayal, and war are all in players' hands — the server provides the tools, and the community writes the geopolitics. You can browse the current nations any time on the List of Nations.

How history develops

This is the part no ordinary server has. Every major event on Cat Civilization — a nation's founding, a war, an alliance, a betrayal — is recorded on the Cat Civilization wiki. Over time this builds into a real, dated chronicle written by the community: a Historical Timeline of the world, complete with the nations and leaders who shaped it. The history isn't flavor text — it's the actual record of what players did, and it's why the world feels like it matters.

Why players stay

You actually matter

A deliberately small, story-driven community. One player can found a nation, tip a war, or change the map — the opposite of being a face in a 10,000-player queue.

Stories over grind

The reason to log in is the ongoing story you're part of, not a daily chore list.

Cosmetic-only store

Play to win, pay to look cool. Perks are cosmetic; power is earned in-game.

True crossplay

Play with friends on any device. Same cat, same nation, same world on Java and Bedrock.

Cat Civilization FAQ

What is Cat Civilization in Minecraft?

Cat Civilization (CatCiv) is a Minecraft civilization server where every player is a cat. Instead of ordinary survival, players found nations, claim land, form alliances, fight wars, run an economy, and build a persistent world history. It runs on the NovaVoid network and is free to play on Java and Bedrock.

Is CatCiv the same as Cat Civilization?

Yes. CatCiv is just short for Cat Civilization. Both names refer to the same cat civilization Minecraft server on NovaVoid.

Who created Cat Civilization?

Cat Civilization is created and run by NovaVoid (Dead Reverie Studio).

Is Cat Civilization free to play?

Yes. It's free on Java (novavoid.net) and Bedrock (mc.novavoid.net, port 19132). The store sells cosmetic-only perks, never gameplay power.

Can Bedrock and console players join?

Yes. Cat Civilization is fully crossplay. Java, Bedrock, console, and mobile players share the exact same world, nations, and cat.

Does the world reset?

No. It's a persistent world. Nations, cities, and history carry forward, so what you do lasts.

Do I have to roleplay?

No. Build, trade, and survive at your own pace. Nations and politics are there when you want them, and founding or joining a nation is optional.

Is there a Minecraft server where you play as a cat?

Yes — this one. Every player on Cat Civilization is rendered as a fully animated 3D cat, done server-side, so it works with a vanilla client on Java, Bedrock, mobile, and consoles. No mods needed. See how to join.
